Brief Introduction of HDPE Microduct Gas Block Connector

Gas block connectors are a very common type of microtube fitting that we produce.  They are usually used for sealing the inside of a microduct route. Prevents moisture, water and gas passing through the connector. This gas block connector is used to prevent the liquid flowing between the connected micro ducts at transformationpoint. Thus, avoid fluid(gas) entering the water block connector, and damage the equipment. Besides, the connector can be gas sealed by turning a ring on the body or by pushing the connector ends together after HDPE bundle tube installation.

Product Advantages:
1.Easy installation, without any special tools.

2.Transparent plastic body, easy to observe the situation. The gas block is partly transparent so proper connection of microducts and installation of micro cable can be seen and verified.

3.High temperature resistance -40″C- 65C

4.Avoid fluid(gas) entering the micro ducts and damage the equipment.

ANMASPC – Better FTTx, Better Life.

We have been designing, manufacturing and supplying connettori per microcondotti for fibra ottica networks since 2013. As a supplier of micro-tube connectors, we will continue to develop and update our products to contribute more to the construction of global optical fiber networks.

A gas-block connector seals around an installed cable rather than merely joining two ducts

Function update: a straight microduct connector joins duct sections, while a connettore del blocco gas creates a seal between the microduct and the installed fiber cable. Dura-Line’s current gas-block description explicitly identifies the purpose as preventing gas, water or moisture from entering through the space around the cable. Its published size range belongs to Dura-Line products and must not be transferred to another manufacturer’s model.

Interface Component to verify Typical failure check
Duct to duct Straight connector Both duct ODs, cuts, insertion depth and connector seal
Duct to installed cable Microduct gas block Duct OD, cable OD, seal activation and cable-centering condition
Unused duct end End cap Correct duct size, closure seating and route environment

Seal activation should happen only after dimensions and cable position are confirmed

Before activating the seal, identify the exact duct and cable outside diameters, inspect the cable jacket, clean the interface and ensure the cable is not side-loaded. Assemble the selected product in the documented order and record whether the seal was open, positioned or activated during each test. This prevents a test result from being attached to the wrong assembly state.

Use a project-specific gas or water test with controlled medium, applied condition, stabilization period and acceptance criterion. Do not apply a competitor’s pressure value to the site’s product. If leakage remains, isolate the duct-to-body and cable-to-seal interfaces separately before replacing the whole assembly. The site’s gas-block guide provides an additional selection workflow.

Frequently asked questions about HDPE microduct gas-block connectors

What does a gas-block connector seal?

It seals the annular space between a compatible microduct and the installed fiber cable, according to the selected product design.

Is a gas block the same as an end cap?

No. An end cap closes an unused duct end; a gas block is selected for a duct containing a cable.

Can one gas block fit several cable diameters?

Some product families publish a cable-OD range, but the exact part number and drawing must match both the duct and cable.

When should the seal be activated?

Activate it only after the cable position, duct size, cable OD and installation instructions are confirmed.

How should a gas-block leak be diagnosed?

Stabilise the test, verify all endpoints, then isolate the duct-body interface and cable-seal interface one at a time.

What evidence should a buyer request?

Request exact dimensional compatibility, seal material, test medium, test method, pressure or ingress evidence, installation instructions and traceable part identification.

Conclusion: a gas block must match both the duct and the installed cable

An HDPE microduct gas-block connector serves a different purpose from a straight connector or end cap: it seals the space around a cable already inside the duct. Reliable selection therefore depends on verifying both outside diameters, the required seal state and the exact product instructions, followed by a controlled project-specific test that distinguishes the duct-to-body interface from the cable-to-seal interface.
